'GRAMODAYA' - RURAL AWAKENING

Since 13.12.14

SRREOSHI commenced a project ‘Gramodaya’ called ‘Rural Education Gramodaya Model’ for Youth Group of 40 members in the village of Ramarbhui, Bankura District with a vision to create a platform for sustainable and fast paced rural development, through relevant quality rural development education. Importantly, to create a backbone of rural development qualified professionals in rural areas, who can ensure sustainability for themselves and their villages, by doing rural development. 

 

The Youth Group is enrolled in various aspects of rural development, using traditional and advanced technologies, through practical and real life teaching methodologies through Community owned and development schools.

 

They also build capacities in different areas of rural development ranging from Organic farming, Vermiculture, Poultry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary services, Pissiculture, Health services, Application of modern technology, Alternative Energy, Tractor repairing, Farm machinery and tools repairing, Watershed, Stop dam building, Rainwater harvesting, Sanitation, Water purification, Participatory approaches, Community work, Infrastructure, Micro finance, Cooperatives, etc. Such schools will provide rural employment oriented courses and opportunities for rural students, to prevent migration and facelift villages. 

Synthesis of IT and Entrepreneurship

The aim is to synthesize entrepreneurial activity and information technologies in generating social and economic change in rural heartlands in India. This idea target to solve socio-economic, cultural, political, economic and geographical factors including, gender inequality, deprived to access their rights, ineffective implantation of government policies and schemes, limited access to capital, information, and resources, early marriage and childbirth, lack of awareness of government schemes, lack of entrepreneurial skills, lack of professional education, high barriers to access market resources and market linkages and finally the barrier to exploit opportunities have posed a number of challenges for rural women entrepreneurs.
